Cannon, Jay, Mrs. (Opal Billington)

Funeral services for Opal Cannon, 90, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hale Center Church of Christ with Silas Short and Matt Swanson officiating.

Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cannon died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, in Care Inn of Plainview.

She was born Feb. 4, 1912, in Olustee, Okla. She moved to Hale Center in 1929 and was a member of Hale Center Church of Christ and the Senior Citizens.

On Oct. 30, 1933, she married Jay Cannon in Clovis, N.M. He died Sept. 7, 1990.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, J.G. and Nancy Cannon of Hale Center; two granddaughters and gran-sons-in-law, Melinda and John Summers of Plainview, and Brenda and Andrew Jackson of De Soto, Texas; and one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Chris and Lana Cannon of Hale Center; and 10 great- grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Hale Center Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 205, Hale Center, TX 79041.
