HALE CENTER-Funeral services for Floy Byerley, 94, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Rowland, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Petersburg Cemetery at 4 p.m. by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.
Mrs. Byerley died at 3:55 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Hi-Plains Nursing Home.
She was born July 24, 1906, in Davidson, Okla. She moved to Montague County in 1912 and to Crosby County in 1914. She graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1923 and lived in Petersburg from 1953 to 1992 before moving to Hale Center.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Petersburg and Hale Center and a longtime member of United Methodist Women she also had been a member of the 1936 Study Club in Petersburg.
On Jan. 27, 1926, she married Horace Bishop Byerley in Crosby County. He died March 5, 1992.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Earl and Doreen Byerley of Bandera; two daughters, Dott Byerley of Lubbock and Teresa Byerley of Stafford, Va.; a son-in-law, Pat Cambell of Venita, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Jett Cambell, died in 1988, and sons Horace Byerley Jr. in 1998 and Edward Byerley in 1991. Two brothers, a sister, a grandchild and a great-grandchild also are deceased.
The family suggests memorials to Cal Farley?s Boy?s Ranch or to the Petersburg of Hale Center First United Methodist Church
