Obituary

Graveside services for William "Wesley" Bybee, 67, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Plainview Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Foote, pastor of Northside Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Bartley Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Bybee died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at his residence under hospice care. He was born July 23, 1939, in Sabinal to Jack and Nancy Bybee. He married Betty Lorene Ponder on Oct. 16, 1972, in Clovis, N.M. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He also worked in roofing and carpentry. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Harris of Plainview and Ruben Bybee of Wala Wala, Wash.; one daughter, Beth Pratt of Citrus Heights, Calif.; five sisters, Virginia Rogers, Geneva Ellerd, Alma Raines and Jewel Gibson, all of Plainview, and Claudell Durkee of Alvarado; and three grandchildren. His brother, Joe Eastep, and one sister, Pauline Rocole, are deceased.
