Funeral services for Max William Burson, 87, former Plainview resident, will be at 10 a..m. Monday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Burson died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Methodist Diagnostic Hospital in Houston. He was born Aug. 15, 1914 in Silverton. He grew up in Plainview and served as an airplane inspection specialist in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. and for the City of Mineral Wells. He had recently moved to Sugarland from Plainview. Surviving are a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Beverly and Allen Eggert of Sugarland ; three stepsons, Erroll Gentry of Colorado Springs, Colo., James "Chip" Garrison of Amarillo and Ray Garrison of Dallas;10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. His first wife, Lura Burson, and his second wife, Mary Garrison Burson, are deceased.
