Burgess, Robert Adron, Mrs. (Vina L.)

Funeral services for Vina Burgess, 90, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Streun, pastor of First Baptist Church in Olton, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burgess died at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in Lubbock.

She was born Nor. 5, 1909, in Sparta, Tenn. She grew up in Hart Camp where she attended school.

She married Robert Adron Burgess on Feb. 1932, in Littlefield and they moved to Olton in 1949 and farmed. They moved to Plainview in 1968. He died in 1976.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Knife & Fork Club. She received an award for her service as a Pink Lady at Central Plains Hospital and also was involved with Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Hyman of Amarillo; one sister, Marie Dorrough of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
