Obituary

NEW DEAL - Funeral services for Raymond Bufe, 73, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Steve Gauntt and Jimmy McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home. Mr. Bufe died on Friday, April 19, 2002, in Lubbock. He was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Lubbock County and graduated from New Deal High School in 1946. He married Ann Speer on Feb. 10, 1960, in Lubbock. He served on the New Deal school board for 18 years, and was a member of the New Deal Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the New Deal Lions Club. He had also served on several gin boards. Survivors include his wife; a son, Darrell Bufe of New Deal; two daughters, Donna Garcia of New Deal and Sonya Bufe of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Wilford Bufe of Hale Center; and four grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
