James Henry Buckner Jr., 64, of San Angelo, born Jan. 19, 1950, in Littlefield, Texas, to Estella Buckner and James Henry Buckner Sr., departed this life on March 24, 2015, in San Angelo, Texas. James graduated from PHS in 1970. He worked for Cargill Meat Solutions for 13 years. James married Ruby Davis in 1972. James moved to San Angelo from Plainview in 2002, where he worked for San Angelo Packaging for three years. After retiring, he worked with J.D. Pruitt's lawn service. Memorial service will be held at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Plainview on April 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. H.K, Thomas Jr. officiating. James was preceded in death by mother Estella Buckner, father James Henry Buckner Sr., two brothers, Nathanial Simmons and Larry Buckner; six sisters, Ruby Campbell, Gladys Bucker, Jimmie Justice, Dorothy Buckner, Clarice Buckner and Betty McFarlane. James loved the Dallas Cowboys and loved to fish. He is survived by life partner Vivian Green of San Angelo of 13 years, one son James Henry Buckner III of Liberal, Kansas; three daughters, Jamaica Buckner of Liberal, Kansas; Estella Buckner of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Megan Buckner of Wichita Falls, Texas; brother LeeRoy Buckner of Lubbock, Texas; and sister Betty Thomas of Plainview, Texas; three grandkids; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. And many friends from his walk in this life.
