Obituary

Dorothy Lee (Duke) Buchanan, 90, of Plainview, TX passed from this life to new life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Good Friday, Apr 2, 2021. She passed after a brief battle with Pancreatic cancer.

She was born Jun 5, 1930 in Loraine, TX to her parents; Charles Melton & Mamie Lee Duke. She graduated from Loraine High in 1947, went on to Texas Tech, where she met and married Gerald Taylor Buchanan on Nov 22, 1951. Dorothy exemplified God's love to all she met. She was always welcoming and always had a contagious smile. she loved her family and family visits. She loved traveling, adventure, gardening, flowers and seeing the buffalos at Caprock Canyon State Park.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Charles & Delores Buchanan of Van, TX, Lisa Buchanan of Campbell, TX, Kent & Jocie Buchanan of Amarillo, TX, Geresa Miller of Newark, OH. Grandchildren; Alissa & Sean Sieja, Rachel & Verlin McClendon, Jonathan & Paige Buchanan; Weston & Priscilla Buchanan, Lorraine & Kyle Seiber, Larissa & Jessie Van der Vyver, Tiffany Buchanan; Emilio Buchanan; Justin Buchanan; Andrew Miller & Emily Miller. 11 Great Grandchildren, Numerous Nephews & Nieces.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Taylor Buchanan, her parents; Charles Melton & Mamie Lee Duke, a son, Barry Floyd Buchanan. Grandson; Zane Andrew Buchanan. Brothers; Charles Ormand Duke, Leon Melton Duke, and sister; Iris Mildred Weise.

Graveside Service will be 2 pm Saturday, Apr 10 at Plainview Cemetery, 100 S Joliet, Plainview, TX, 79072
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, Apr 9 at Bartley Funeral home 1200 I-27 Plainview, TX 79072
