Obituary

Bruce Buchanan, 86, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Bruce was born July 1, 1928, in Plainview, Texas, to James Earl and Ora Maye (Fain) Buchanan. He grew up in Plainview. He worked for Cloverlake Dairy and farmed in Hale County from 1946 to 1992. He then worked for Primerica Insurance Company where he served as a regional vice president before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Betty Faye Neel on May 11, 1946, in Portales, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2005. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Thresa Jan Buchanan. Survivors include his three sons, Mike Buchanan of Plainview, Pat Buchanan and wife Judy of Plainview, Mark Buchanan; one sister, Jonell McCulloch of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
