Funeral services for Ethel Bryant, 81, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Dean McNamara, chaplain of VistaCare Family Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Bryant died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at 2:15 a.m. in Newport Beach, Calif. She was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Odell. She graduated from Springlake High School in 1937 and attended West Texas Teacher?s College. She received her nurse training in Plainview and was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 25 years. She worked for Drs. Everett and Mary Dye in the Skaggs Building, had worked for Nichols Medical Group and also was a home care nurse. She moved to California in 2001. On Aug. 14, 1948, she married Herman James Bryant in Plainview. He died Dec. 19, 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Ginger Bryant of Corpus Christi; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Rhonda Bryant of Costa Mesa, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Beatrice Hite of Oroville, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Dylan Bryant of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Julie Morrison of Corona, Calif. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
