Brown, William Reed
ABERNATHY- Graveside services for William R. Brown, 97, of Abernathy, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Abernathy Cemetery with the Rev. James G. Nunn, great nephew of the deceased, officiating.
Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home in Abernathy.
Mr. Brown died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, in Lubbock?s Heritage Oaks Nursing Home.
He was born in Braman on Jan. 23, 1901. He moved to Abernathy in 1963 from Breckenridge. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the IOOF and Kiks Lodges, as well as the Abernathy Senior Citizens.
He is survived by two nieces and six nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Abernathy Senior Citizens, 717 Ave. C, Abernathy, 79311
