Brown, Bill R.
Bill R. Brown, 78, passed away on Nov. 1, 2015, in Plainview, Texas. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at First Baptist Church Chapel in Plainview, Texas, with Dr. Tim Marrow officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Bill attended Plainview High School until his junior year when he traveled to Rock Island, Illinois, to attend the Bear Alignment School. He married Pat Simmons on May 27, 1961. He loved antique cars and tractors and was an avid Boy Scout scoutmaster for many years. He earned his Wood Badge training certificate and was inducted into the Haynes District Scouters Hall of Fame. He loved music and loved to play the guitar and the fiddle. He also like to go camping and was very knowledgeable on the local history. He had a great sense of humor and always loved to tease anyone and everyone. He owned and operated Bill Brown Brake and Alignment in Plainview for many years before he retired in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Pat Brown of Plainview, Texas; two sons, Mark Brown and wife Jana of Wolfforth, Texas, and Daron Brown and wife Kristi of Plainview, Texas; one daughter, Debbie Foreman and husband Brent of Yukon, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Melody and Cord Brown of Plainview, Texas, Payton and Weston Brown of Wolfforth, Texas, Kodi and Robby Foreman of Yukon, Oklahoma; one brother, Kenneth Brown of Plainview, Texas; one sister; Joy and Gilbert Couch of Kilgore, Texas; one sister-in-law, Ada Brown of Plainview, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Bud" and Beryl Brown; two brothers, Travis and Bob Brown; one sister, Patricia Johnson. Memorials may be sent to Meals on Wheels, P.O.
