Brewer, Bill, Mrs. (Virginia Ruth Roberts Harkins)
Virginia Ruth Harkins Brewer, 82, of Plainview passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Lemons Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. Virginia R. Brewer was born on Jan. 22, 1933, in Wink, Texas, to George Duncan and Auddie (Angel) Roberts. She attended Plainview High School. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and loved her children dearly. From their childhood, her children remember her as a passionate Dallas Cowboy fan and also loved playing bingo. She enjoyed raising parakeets and she was an avid bird watcher, having always kept a hummingbird feeder in her yard. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Leon Harkins and Bill Brewer; and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Ball and husband Charles of Baytown, Texas; two sons, Dennis Harkins and wife Mae of Plainview and Jerry Harkins of Kingsland; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
