Obituary

James W. Brazele, 89, died Friday, May 4, 2007, in Fort Worth. Mr. Brazele was born in Plainview on March 12, 1918, to J.M. and Minnie B. Hall Brazele. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1937. James farmed with his parents until WWII and served in the Army Air Force. After being released, he returned to Plainview and married LaVerne K. Thurman in Lubbock on May 11, 1946. The Brazeles farmed west of Plainview until James retired in 1980. He moved to Decatur in May 2006 to be near family. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan Boswell and husband Roger of Decatur and Jennie Huddleston and husband Billy of Duncan, Okla.; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held for family and friends at Kornerstone Funeral Directors from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2007.
