Obituary

Graveside services for Lillian Ruth Bramlett, 76, of Amarillo, formerly of Plainview, will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Plainview Memorial Park with the Rev. Alvin Petty officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Open visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bramlett died Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Van Alystine to Lawrence and Juanita Fifer Pope. She married Cecil Bramlett on Oct. 24, 1992, in Plainview. She was a nurse and worked 45 years for Dr. Donald Moore and Dr. John C. "Jack" Long in Plainview. Following her retirement from nursing, she served as a caregiver for many people, most recently in Amarillo. She was a member of First Christian Church of Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a son, Darrell Wayne Shaw and his wife, Becky, of Amarillo; two daughters, Marilyn Sue Shaw and Shellee Matthews, both of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Sherry Lynn Rigsby and her husband, Earl, of Bullord and Celia Faye Minix and her husband, Fred, of Naples, Fla.; a brother, William B. Pope and his wife, Toni, of Roswell, N.M.; a sister, Rita M. Watley and her husband, Leroy, of Amarillo; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James L. Pope; and one grandson, Noah Ellis.
