Obituary

Funeral services for Edward R. "Eddie" Bramlet, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Lemons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Jones officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Bramlet died Monday, April 12, 2004, in Covenant Hospital Lubbock. He was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Kress, the son of Charlie and Gracie Foster Bramlet. He attended school at Price and Plainview and began working for Roy G. Woods Funeral Home. He worked for Flash-O-Gas and later became a trucker, retiring March 13, 2004. His CB handle was "Beech-Nut." He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, beginning in 1945. Survivors include a grandson, Brody Tanner Oldfield of Amarillo; two sisters, Dorothy Williams of Arlington and Mrs. Glenn (Evelyn) Smith of Pearce, Ariz.; his companion, Jane Parker of San Angelo; and several nieces and nephews. His parents; his wife, Charlene Bramlet; a daughter, Charlotte Widener, and three brothers, Ottice, Melvin and Clarence Bramlet, are deceased. The family will receive friends at Lemons Funeral Home from 6:30-8 p.m. today.
