Obituary

HALE CENTER - Funeral services for Fannie Sue Boyd, 88, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Teeter, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Pampa, and the Rev. Ken Rowland, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Boyd died at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2001, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born Jan. 13, 1913, in Claude. She moved to Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School and attended Sul Ross College. She moved to the Sunshine Community from 1935 to 1954 when she moved to Hale Center. In 1935, she married Orval Boyd in Portales, N.M. He died April 6, 1976. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school lessons, sang in the choir and led the Women?s Society in both local and sub-district work. She was missionary secretary and was a board member. She remained active in farming after her husband?s death. Survivors include two sons, Stephen Boyd of Houston and Kip Boyd of Midland; two brothers, Edwin Graves of Encino, Calif., and James Graves of La Porte; one sister, Betty Dynes of Paso Robles, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Tanner and Lindsay Boyd, both of Midland.
