Bowles, Carl E. ? plv; cem. Blk 195

Services for Carl E. Bowles, 88, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2009, at the Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Monday night from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Bowles died Sept. 25, 2009. He was born on Oct. 6, 1920, in Gilmore, Okla., to Edgar Allen Andrew and Ruby Irene Bowles. He married Mary M. Cole on July 27, 1946, in Lawrence, Kan. He served honorably in the United States Army Signal Corp during WWII. Mr. Bowles was employed at General Motors for 30 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Bowles is survived by his wife, his daughter, Barbara Adams of Plainview; his sons, Carl S. Bowles and wife Debbie of Plainview, Victor Bowles of Kansas City, Mo., Stanley Bowles and wife Pam of Versailles, Mo., Randy Bowles of Sapulpa, Okla., and Brad Bowles of Plainview; 10 grandchildren; 14 grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
