Bourland, J.C. (Jake), Mrs. (Margaret Madera)
Hale Center?Funeral services for Margaret Bourland, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Caroll Green, pastor of First Baptist Church in Loop, officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bourland died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, in Hereford.
She was born Dec. 14, 1917, in Hubbard. She graduated from Cotton Center High School in 1935 and moved to Hale Center in 1946.
She worked as a bookkeeper for R.I. Burgess & Son Oil Co., from 1950-66 then worked for Hale Center as city secretary, retiring in 1981.
She was a charter member of Hale Center Senior Citizens and a member of First Baptist Church.
On Oct. 20, 1939, she married J.C. ?Jake? Bourland in Hale Center. He died May 14, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Gary ?Rusty? Bourland of Refugio; three daughters, Peggy Pope of Graford, Sandra Bankhead of Refugio and Billie Day of Hereford; a brother, Ralph Madera of Plainview; a sister, Rheba Burgess of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. They suggest memorials to Hale Center Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 205, Hale Center, TX 79041
