Dana Jo Hughes Bontke, 76, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014. Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Dana Jo Hughes Bontke at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Heckman officiating. Dana was born May 17, 1938, in Afton, Texas, to Thomas Bethel Hughes and Eula Mae Jones. She graduated from Spur High School in 1956 and then attended Lippert's Business College. She married Carl J. Bontke on Nov. 22, 1964, in Plainview. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl J. Bontke, and a brother Thomas B. "Mike" Hughes Jr. Survivors include her children, Carla Moore and husband Ricky of Christoval, Texas, Jana Kelley and husband Blake of Celina, Texas, and a son Justin Bontke of Dallas; three wonderful grandchildren, Mikayla Moore, Madison Kelley and Morgan Kelley; three sisters, June Hale of Levelland, Bonnie Ayers of Lubbock and Susie Karrh of Lake Tanglewood; one brother Bill Hughes of Sumner, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
