KRESS- Funeral Services for A.G. Bontke, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul?s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gerald Boerger, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
Mr. Bontke died at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at his residence.
He was born March 30, 1922, in Malone in Hill County. He moved to Kress at a young age. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and farmed until retiring in 1980. He was a past elder of St Paul?s Lutheran Church and a past member of the board of directors of Kress Farmers Elevator.
On May 19, 1946, he married Emma Boedeker in Plainview.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn and Martin Kunkel of Garden City, Kan. and Shirley Bontke and Diana Campbell, both of Kress; two brothers, L.C. Bontke of Bellavista, Ark. And Ernest Bontke of Ford, Kan.; three sisters, Agusta Bontke of Amarillo, Minnie Self of Claude and Ruth Young of Kress; six grandchildren, Randall, Richard, and Denise Campbell of Kress, Rodney Kunkel of Overland Park, Kan., Shannon Kunkel of Manhattan, Kan., and Dwain Kunkel of Kansas City, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Joe Bontke Jr. and Max Bontke, are deceased.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
