Boggs, Robert Cecil

Funeral services for Robert Cecil Boggs, 87, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Horace Abbott, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Boggs died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003 in Covenant Hospital Plainview.

He was born May 30, 1916, in Rising Star. He grew up in Kress and attended Plainview schools, graduating in 1944 from PHS where played on the Bulldog team.

He served in the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated B&G Welding for 20 years.

He was a member of the American Legion for 50 years, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, National Rifle Association, Elk Lodge and Grace United Methodist Church.

On April 29, 1977, he married Dorlene Montgomery.

Survivors include a wife and stepson; James Montgomery of Albuquerque, N.M.; two step-daughters, Vi Kessel of Albuquerque, N.M. and Nancy Lee of Slaton; step-sisters, Evelyn Stew of Joseph and JoNeil Moore of Tulsa, Okla., five step grandchildren and six stepgreat-granfchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Grace United Methodist Church.
