Obituary
Anyone that has ever known Ellen Boedeker will know how profoundly she will be missed. She went to be with the Lord on Nov. 17, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 901 Oakland St., Plainview, Texas, the pastor Gerald Boerger officiating, assisted by Colquitt Nash, Area Community Hospice chaplain. Arrangements are by Bartley Funeral Home, Plainview, Texas. Mrs. Boedeker was born Maggie Ellen Durham on March 1, 1938, in Plainview, Texas, to the late Willie Ernest and Opal Branlet Durham. She married J.D. Boedeker on Jan. 11, 1980, in Clovis, N.M., (so nobody could see). She attended Plainview schools and Southwest Business College. She worked for Lilie-Hoffman Cooling Towers for 9 1/2 years. She was a precious friend, a loving mother and stepmother and a wonderful cook. She received numerous ribbons and awards for her baking and canning. She also eagerly helped with the farming operation on the Boedeker farm, and was a crack shot with most any firearm. Ellen is survived by her husband, J.D.; her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Doug Barron of Flower Mound, Texas; granddaughter, Megan Barron of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepsons, Mike Boedeker of Arlington, Texas, and David Boedeker of the home; stepdaughter and husband, Debbie and Ron Pollard of San Antonio, Texas; three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Elsie Jones of Longview, Texas, Margie Pelton of Portales, N.M., and Betty Dykes of Plainview, Texas; brother, Gordon Durham of Lubbock, Texas; and extra special friend and neighbor, Otero Scheele. Ellen was proceeded in death by two brothers, Jack Durham and Lewis Durham. Memorials may be made to Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Road, Plainview, TX 79072, or St. Paul Lutheran Church
