Obituary

Nell P. Blankenship was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010. She was born to James and Ruby Pritchett on Jan. 23, 1934, in Abilene, Texas. She was married to her beloved husband, O.C. "Bo" Blankenship, on April 19, 1952. Nell enjoyed being a homemaker and raising their two children. As a former Plainview High School band parent, she accompanied her children on many bus trips. As her children became independent adults, she developed hobbies such as fishing, sewing and collecting both music boxes and glassware. She also had a lifelong love of animals. Nell was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a daughter. She is survived by her husband, O.C. "Bo" Blankenship of Plainview, Texas; her son, Michael Blankenship and his wife, Connie Blankenship, of Austin, Texas; her granddaughter, Elisabeth Hull Meyer; grandson, James Hull; and two great-grandchildren, also of Austin. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Dr. Max Browning officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. The family will receive guests at a viewing from 4-8 p.m. today, Nov. 26, 2010, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
