Obituary

Funeral services for Weldon Ray Blakemore, 44, who died Friday night of a gunshot wound at his home in Mesquite, were to be at 4:30 p.m. today in Wood-dunning Colonial chapel.

Burial was to be in Plainview Cemetery. An officiating minister had not been chosen this morning.

Police at Mesquite, about 15 miles southeast of Dallas, said the shooting occured shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived at the Blakemore home, 1823 Lee Ave, they found Blakemore sprawled on the floor of the living room. He had been shot once with a rifle.

The shooting followed a family argument, police said. Sgt. J. J. McDonald said no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
