PLAINVIEW - Jessie Louise Blakemore, 90, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Plainview Cemetery with Erving Clark of Plainview officiating. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blakemore was born in Running Water, Hale County. She married Lee Hollis Blakemore in 1924 at Plainview. They began farming in Seminole, and she lived there until after her husband's death in 1938. She also was preceded in death by a son, Weldon Ray Blakemore; and a daughter, Mary Frances Earley.

During World War II, she moved to Washington D.C. to work for the war department at the Pentagon. She stayed there until after the war, retiring in 1965. She then made her home in Hereford and lived there until moving to Long Island, N.Y.

Survivors include three daughters, Laura Lea Rassiga of Floral Park, N.Y., Betty Louise Pfeifer of East Lansing, Mich., and Wynona Faye Tapscott; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
