Obituary
Three Hutchinson county residents were killed and five others were injured as a result of three separate automobile accidents Sunday.
Dead are Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Bivens, 410 W. Sixth, who died following a collision between their car and a truck about 9:20 p.m., 23 miles north of Borger, and Mrs. Jimmie Word Loudermilk, 42, 408 S. McGee, who was pronounced dead on arrival at the Goodall Hospital in Memphis, Tex., following a collision one mile west of Hedley, Texas.
According to the officer's report, the Bivens 1951 Dodge sedan hit the rear of a cattle truck driven by Jimmy Joyel Holloway, Amarillo.
The truck was stopped on the highway due to a motor failure. A witness said Holloway jumped from his truck and ran down the highway with a flashlight trying to flag down the oncoming Bivens car.
Mr. Bivens, 42, is survived by one son, Charles Scott Bivens, 12, of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, L.B. Leard, Lawton, Okla., and A.W. Leard, Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Anna Belle Bivens, 27, is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mongold, Plainview; two brothers, Robert Coker, Plainview and W.C. Coker, Camp Ervin, Calif.
Funeral arrangements for the Bivens are pending, with the bodies resting at the Minton Funeral Home.
