Obituary

Forrest Bitner, 77, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at Prairie House Living Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Weiss, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Bitner was born April 12, 1927, in Littlefield. He married Mary Jo Kirk on Feb. 9, 1946, in Vernon. He had worked at Jarvis-Tull, Texas Farm Machinery and at Gebo's as store manager. He was active in PTA and Boy Scouts and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Bitner, of Plainview; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mike Gilbert of Lubbock; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Bonnie Bitner of Monterrey, Mexico; one brother, Gene Bitner of Amarillo; one sister, Birdia Howell of Plainview; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Vitz and Jeremy Gilbert, both of Lubbock, and Timothy Bitner of Monterrey, Mexico. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 1613 24th St., Plainview, TX 79072. The family will have a visitation for family and friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
