Obituary

Funeral services for Mary Rosalie Freeman Birdsong, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview with Elmo Snelling officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Wood Dunning Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Birdsong died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at her residence. She was born April 19, 1923, in Quanah to John W. and Chloe Strout Flipping. She grew up in Hart and graduated from Springlake-Earth High School. She married E.C. Eldridge Freeman on Aug. 28, 1943. He died March 6, 1981. She moved to Plainview in 1985. She married Troy Birdsong on Feb. 15, 1991. He died in October 2006. She worked for H&R Block before retiring. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ and the Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Karon Freeman of Waco; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
