Funeral services for J.D. ?Jack? Billington, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Garland Street Church of Christ with J.W. Hamby, and elder, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Billington died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, in Covenant Hospital Lubbock.

He was born March 17, 1921, in Olustee, Okla. He grew up in Hale County where he attended schools. He was a corporal flight engineer with the U.S. Air Force from December 1943 to March 1946. After his discharge he returned to the Halfway are where he farmed until 1963 when he moved to Dumas to farm. He returned to Plainview in 1970 and worked as a real estate broker.

He was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Kent Billington of Plainview and Darrell Billington of Lubbock; and three granddaughter, Julie Gilmore, Kelley Billington and Lacy Billington, all of Iowa Park.
