Obituary

J.F. Bilberry, 95, formerly of Petersburg, passed away on Dec. 8, 2013, in Whitney, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, in the Petersburg Cemetery with his nephew Craig Peterson officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. J.F. Bilberry was born on May 17, 1918, in Roswell N.M., to the late John Evans and Minnie Mae (Brister) Bilberry. He attended school in Petersburg. J.F. married Ruby Lee (Buth) on May 20, 1939, in Petersburg. She preceded him in death on Oct. 22, 1988. J.F. was a farmer for most of his life in the Petersburg area, and, after retiring, lived in Lubbock. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and attended First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers Ezra Bilberry and Thurber Bilberry, as well as one great-grandchild. He is survived by one brother Kelly Bilberry of Temple, Texas; one sister, Dorothy Peterson of Rogers, Ark.; one son James Bilberry and wife Marjorie of Graham, Texas; one daughter Floy Duchess of Whitney, Texas; four grandsons Richard Baker, Montie Baker, Jeff Bilberry and Ray Bilberry, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
