Obituary

Funeral services for the Rev. Frank Bernal, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lemons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Angel Espinosa officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. A prayer service will be at 5 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bernal died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Donna, Texas, to Isaac and Paula Juarez Bernal. He grew up in and graduated from high school in Donna. He attended Rio Grande Valley Bible Institute in 1958 and God's Bible School in Cincinnati in 1959. He went to the Seminary for Nazarene in San Antonio from 1960-63. He moved to Plainview in 1963 to pastor at the Spanish Nazarene Church. He also pastured in McAllen and Nampa, Idaho. Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia Davila and husband Dionel of San Angelo; two sons, Sergio Bernal and wife Linda of Plainview and Samuel Bernal and wife Delma of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His wife, Dolores Bernal; a son, Saul Bernal; and a daughter, Sonia Bernal are deceased.
