Bermudes, Alberto, Mrs. (Barbara Fernandez)

Funeral services for Barbara F. Bermudes, 90, of Amarillo will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Barley-Silva Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Elbert A. Fadallan, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Augustine Cantu, a deacon at Sacred Heart, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.

Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Bermudes died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000 in Olsen Manor Nursing Home in Amarillo.

She was born Dec. 4, 1909, in Poteet. She lived in Plainview for several years before moving to Amarillo. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

In 1939, she married Alberto Bermudes in San Antonio. He died April 15, 1985.

Survivors include a son, Ismael F. Leal Sr. of Plainview, eight grandchildren, Fernando Leal, Barbara Ramirez and Sarah Garcia, all of Plainview, Ismael Leal Jr. and Tony Leal, both of Amarillo, David Leal of Austin, Janie Sauceda of Hobbs, N.M., and Rebecca Cardenas of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Estella Leal, and all her brothers and sisters, Federico Fernandez, Solidad Faz, Lorencia Fernandez, Enrique Fernandez and Rebecca Hernandez, are deceased.
