Funeral Services for Billy Ray Bench, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Colquitt Nash, minister of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Bench died at 7:21 p.m. Monday, Jan 20, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Round Timber. He moved to Hale County in 1933 and attended Snyder community school. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1948 and farmed until his retirement in 2000.
He was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ.
On Dec. 27, 1947, he married Lily Elizabeth Cargill in Plainview.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Linda Rae Wilson of Plainview; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Phyllis Bench of Plainview; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Betty Jane Sheppard, died in 1992 and a sister, Margaret Lee Chamberlain, also is deceased.
