HALE CENTER - Funeral Mass for Julian Benavides, 87, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Theresa?s Catholic Church with the Rev. Reymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in the same church. Mr. Benavides died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, in Hi-Plains Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 22, 1914, in Cameron. He was a longtime Hale Center resident and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Theresa?s Catholic Church. On Oct. 29, 1975, he married Guadalupe Villareal in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; a son, Carlos Martinez of Hale Center; two daughters, Maria Benavides of Lupert, Idaho and Virginia Rodriguez of Hale Center; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
