Obituary

Graveside services for Rocky Belyeu, 75, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Plainview Cemetery with Ronald Huckeby, a lay minister, officiating.

Burial arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Belyeu died at 1:53 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Littlefield. He grew up in the Galveston area and lived several places. He worked in the oil business for 30 years as a field supervisor. He moved to Hale Center in the late 1960s and later moved to Plainview.

He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II and was in the battle for Iwo Jima. He was a Mason, an Odd Fellow, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Garna Fish; one daughter, Janice Rylant of Plainview; and special family friends, Rick and Alma Pool of Hale Center.

A daughter, Kay Malone, is deceased.
