Bechtold, Louis Fredric,Jr., Mrs. (Emily Delle Jones)

Funeral services for Emily Delle Bechtold, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bechtold died at 7:50a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2000, in Prairie House Living Center.

She was born Emily Delle Jones on July 17, 1922, in Plainview. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1940 and from Lippert?s Business College. She had worked at the old Plainview Hospital as a bookkeeper and during World War ll. She worked for United Gas & Pipeline in Shreveport, LA. She returned to Plainview and worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring in 1950.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, was with the National Youth Administration for two and a half years and had been a Sunday school teacher. She was a former member of PTA and Plainview Band Boosters.

On Jan. 2, 1948, she married Louis Fredric Bechtold Jr. He died Feb. 26, 1994.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Judy Bechtold and Freddie and Susan Bechtold, all of Plainview; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert F. and Frankie Jones of Mesquite; a sister-in-law, Ella Mae Jones of Plainview; and four grandchildren, Jeromy Dale Bechtold, Fredric Keith Bechtold, Michael Bechtold and Zachary Bechtold.

The family suggests memorials to Cal Farley?s Boys Ranch or to Boy Scout Troop 250, 2308 W. Fifth, Plainview, TX 79072.
