Obituary

OVERTON ? Funeral services for Gus Barron, 96, former Plainview resident, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Harden officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home.

Mr. Barron died Sunday, Sept. 3, 1995, in Overton.

He was born in Smith County and was a longtime resident of West Texas before moving to the Arp and Overton areas in 1982. He formerly lived in Plainview, Dimmitt, Tulia and Dumas.

He graduated from Swinney?s Automotive School in Kansas City, Mo. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist.

Survivors include a stepson, Claude Ray Blocker of Amarillo; two brothers, David Barron of Fort Worth and Lee Barron and Overton; and two sisters, Ruth Elliot of Tyler and Beatrice Lanham of Troup.

The family will receive visitors today from 7-9 at the funeral home.
