Funeral services for Daniel Edward Barrett, 80, of Lubbock, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Randy Land officiating.
Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Barrett died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born July 16, 1919, in Bowie. He grew up in Cotton Center where he later farmed. He was a member of Cotton Center First Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On Feb. 17, 1939, he married Bertha Irene Kester in Plainview. She died April 11, 1975.
Survivors include three daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Heathcoat of Lubbock, Norma Kuykendall of Wolfforth, and Carolyn and Nick Nicholson of Amherst; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne Barrett of Amherst and Glenn and Kay Barrett of Lubbock; two brothers, Dough and Calvin Barrett, both of Cotton Center; six sisters, Virginia Easley of dumas, Josephine Shultz and Gertrude downs, both of Lubbock, Wanda Horsford and Darlene Ashley, both of Cotton Center, and Faye Bartlett of Petersburg; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
