Obituary

Memorial services for Wilma "Ruth" Barnett, 63, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Emmitt Tipton, dean of students at Wayland, officiating, assisted by Manuel Rodriguez of First Assembly of God. Burial will be at Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Barnett died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born Jan. 28, 1944, in Plainview to Alfred and Leta Mae Byrd. She married Bill Barnett on March 11, 1961, in Plainview. She was a unit secretary at Central Plains Hospital for many years. She was a member of First Assembly of God where she taught Sunday School for 15 years along with serving as Missionette leader. She lived in Plainview all her life and received her GED in Plainview. Survivors include her husband; one son, William Thomas "Tom" Barnett Jr. of Lubbock; three daughters and one son-in-law, Tina and Timothy Bettis and Twylia Barnett, all of Plainview, and Katherinea Mosqueda of Olton; her mother; four brothers; three sisters; four grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Her father and one grandchild are deceased.
