Shirley Joy Werner Bandy, 61, of Plainview died Saturday, May 29, 2010, in Plainview. The family will hold a memorial service from 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 3701 Kirchwood Drive, Plainview. Mrs. Bandy was born Aug. 6, 1948, in Welfare, Texas. She grew up in Comfort, Texas, and graduated from high school there. She attended the University of Texas in Austin and received an associate's degree. She worked as a lab technician at the hospital in Hale Center and later in Plainview. She then worked for the Serenity Center as a rehabilitation assistant. She married Jim C. Bandy on March 31, 1978, in Clovis, N.M. She is survived by her husband, Jim Bandy of Plainview; three sons, Jimmy L. Bandy D.C., and wife Tami of Branson, Mo., Chris Bandy and wife LeAnne, and Mark Bandy and wife Laurie, all of Lubbock; one daughter, Dawn Craven of Blanco, Texas; her mother-in-law, Ollie Bandy of Plainview; a cousin, Janet Perkinson of Hale Center; best friend, Mary Poteet of Plainview; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
