Obituary

Funeral services for Lucille Ballard, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Jack Stone of Muleshoe officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Ballard died Thursday, April 28, 2011, in Plainview. She was born Feb. 10, 1929, to Ben and Drucilla Adams in Minco, Okla., where she attended schools. She married Melton Ballard on Feb. 22, 1945, in Hollis, Okla. She was a homemaker and member of Southside Assembly of God. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Gould, Rida and James Cate and Sandy and Jacky Eden, all of Plainview; two sons and daughters-in-law, Franklin Lee and Cathy Ballard and Freddy Ray and Linda Ballard, all of Houston; three brothers, Roy Adams of Casa Grande, Ariz., James Adams of Porter and Cleo Adams of Hamilton; three sisters, Margaret Sherwood of Oak Harbor, Wash., Lois Lightfoot of Graham and Freda Bryant of Lubbock; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Her husband and sister, Olga Yates, are deceased.
