Linda Baker, 72, of Plainview passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in Lubbock. A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. Elder Johnny McDonald will officiate. Cremation service arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Linda Sue Baker was born Feb. 9, 1941, in Harmon County, Okla., to George and Imogene (Card) Hall. She and Darwin "Peewee" Baker were married Aug. 28, 1959, in Hart, Texas. They had more than 53 wonderful years together. Linda was an avid reader, and she loved to travel. She and her family traveled to almost all of the 50 states, through all the Canadian provinces except three and to the Arctic Circle in Alaska. She particularly enjoyed British Columbia. Her favorite pastime of all was spending it with her grandchildren. She loved her "grandbabies," and recently discovered she was going to be a great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Linda was a longtime member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. Linda is survived by her husband Peewee Baker of Plainview; her son Kelly Baker of Galveston, Texas; her daughters, Paula Baker and Teri Richardson and her husband Steve, all of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren Caitlin Henry, Erin Henry and Dakota Baker, also of Odessa; and a sister, Zella Powell of Plainview. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jean Kennedy and Frances Osthus. Online condolences may be made at www.lemonsfunerals.com.
