Azua, Alberto,Sr.

Funeral Mass for Alberto Azua Sr., 88, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerard McKinney, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Rosary will be recited at 7 tonight in Lemons Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Azua died at 2:17 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2001, in Covenant Hospital Plainview.

He was born April 8, 1912, in Mexico. He had worked at the Plainview-Hale County Airport as a service man from 1960 until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He married Maria Perez on Jan. 27, 1944, in Mexico. She died May 16, 1997.

Surviving are two daughters, Blanca Estella Juarez and Olga A. Samarripa, both of Plainview; three sons, Albeto Azua Jr. of Lubbock, Salvador Azua of El Paso and Jesse Azua of Dallas; a brother, Salvador Azua of Juarez, Mexico; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A sister also is deceased.
