Obituary

Juanita F. Aylesworth, 91, of Plainview, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, in Austin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Juanita was born Dec. 2, 1914, to Joseph Newton McWilliams and Bertie Jane Price McWilliams in McGregor, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Reaper Bible Study Class taught by Mrs. Boone (Ruth) Hall for 38 years and also a member of the Reva Lou Grisham and Janelle Terrell Sunday School Class. She also taught the 9-year-old Sunday School Class for 16 years. She owned and operated Book Nook bookstore from 1969-80. Mrs. Aylesworth also traveled many places including Hawaii, Taiwan, the Holy Land, Europe and extensively across the United States. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Louis N. Aylesworth; four brothers, Oscar McWilliams, G.A. "Buster" McWilliams, W.G. "Snooks" McWilliams and Price McWilliams; and one sister, Opal Rice. Juanita is survived by her two daughters, Jane Upchurch of Austin and Martha Peterman of Grand Lake, Okla.; four grandchildren, Bret Peterman of Connor, Maine, Eric Peterman of Stillwater, Okla., Tory Upchurch of Austin and Todd Upchurch of Dallas; three great-grandchildren, Naika Peterman, Zacherie Peterman and Jude Upchurch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
