Obituary

Services for Manuel Ayala, 81, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Northwest Church of Christ with J. Henderson, elder, officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Ayala died Thursday, March 27, 2008, in Plainview after a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Presidio. He was a farmer for 40 years and raised champion rabbits. He also raised goats. He was a member of Northwest Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Manuela of Plainview; one daughter, Jaynee Hernandez of California; two sons, Earnest Ayala and wife Mary, and Joe Manual Ayala and wife Merry, all of Santa Fe, N.M.; four grandchildren, Jon David Hernandez of San Diego and Lynsay Ayala, Teynan Ayala and Kate Ayala of Santa Fe; and great-grandson Riley Ayala of Santa Fe. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
