Asher, J.C. (Bill), Mrs. (Lottie Gertrude Ely)

KILLEEN, TEXAS -- Graveside rites for Lottie Gertrude Ely Asher will be held on a future date at the Plainview Cemetery when her ashes are interred next to her spouse, J.C. (Bill) Asher.

Mrs. Asher died Dec. 27, 2013, with her children by her side at Rosewood Care Center in Killeen, concluding her extended struggle to regain physical health following a stroke on June 3, 2012. She was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Yoakum County.

In accord with her desires, she was present during the celebration of her life marking her 90th birthday.
She resided in the Texas Panhandle, raising her children until becoming Bell County?s ?Mrs. Mac Tool? in 1975. In retirement, she square-danced with the Killeen Kickers and Lank?s Silver Belles and sang with the Bob Gilmore Center Song Birds.

Mrs. Asher was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and all of her eight siblings.

Survivors include a son, James Asher of Houston; a daughter, Vickie Tounget of Killeen; three grandsons, Jacob Tounget of Killeen, Joseph Asher of Houston and Russell Tounget of Killeen; and five great-grandchildren, Zachary Tounget, Zoe Tounget, Andrew Tounget, Judah Tounget and Brennan Asher.
