Obituary

Funeral Mass for Julian Aranda, 70, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Reymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary for family and friends will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Aranda died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010. He was born Nov. 13, 1939, in Mexico to Tomas and Basilia Aranda. He is survived by his wife, Francisca Aranda of Plainview; seven sons, Horacio Aranda and Francisco Javier Aranda, both of Mexico, Jose Cayetano Aranda of Chicago, Juan Manuel Aranda and Israel Aranda, both of Plainview, and Julian Aranda Jr. and Efrain Aranda, both of Lubbock; one daughter, Dora Luz Aranda of Plainview; four sisters, Gloria Valdez, Miguelina Valdez, Oralia Aranda and Maria DelRosario Valdez; 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
