Obituary

Santos Morales Alvarez, 72, of Kress passed away on Dec. 25, 2014. Mr. Alvarez was born on Nov. 1, 1942, in Palacios, Texas, to the late Baldomero and Manuela (Morales) Alvarez. He married Pauline (Quintanilla) on Dec. 31, 1966, in Plainview. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday Jan. 1, 2015 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Kress, and a memorial of Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Kress. Santos was a delivery employee for Sears for many years. Mr. Alvarez was known for his love of gardening, and anyone would tell you that he always had an immaculate yard. He also loved playing dominos with his brothers and brothers in-laws, and making hot sauce; he was a huge Denver Broncos fan, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Pauline; two daughters, Virginia Leal and husband Robert, and Lisa Alvarez.
