Obituary

Mass for Jose Alvarez, 73, was at 2 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulo, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Alvarez died Friday, April 21, 2006, at his residence. He was born March 19, 1933, in Monterrey, Mexico to Alberto Alvarez and Petra Sustaita Alvarez. He married Dora Campos on June 6, 1957, in Donna. He was a Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also owned his own collision repair business. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Joe Alvarez Jr., Javier Alvarez, Rolando Alvarez, John Alvarez and Armando Alvarez; two daughters, Juanita Alvarez and Linda Perez; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
